Tour: “The High-Rise and Teatr Lalka”
We invite you on a fascinating journey through one of Warsaw’s most iconic landmarks — the Palace of Culture and Science, the famous “Stalinist skyscraper” that has remained a symbol of the city for decades. It sparks debates and emotions, but it never leaves anyone indifferent.
In the first part of the tour, we will explore the history of the palace and its surroundings and discover:
• which festival inaugurated this monumental building;
• how many people can gather on the square in front of it;
• which sculpture became the most popular landmark of the palace;
• who performed on the legendary stage of the Congress Hall;
• and even discuss the project of the new Museum of Modern Art.
In the second part, a special adventure awaits us — a visit to Teatr Lalka, one of Warsaw’s most extraordinary theatres. Together with actor-guides, you’ll step behind the scenes, into dressing rooms and workshops, learning how performances are created and how puppets come alive on stage. You will even have the chance to feel like a performer and step onto a real stage!
The tour is led by Tatyana Kazak, a guide who knows how to turn a walk into a lively conversation with the city. With her, Warsaw reveals itself in a new way: stories become closer, buildings more meaningful, and the puppet theatre comes alive not only on stage but also in your imagination.
