“DDT. 20th Century”
Special Film Screening, Q&A with the Director, and Exhibition of Project Artifacts
16/09/2026 18:00 - 21:00
📍 Kino Elektronik, Warszawa
You won't see this film in regular cinemas. And that's probably exactly why it's worth experiencing on the big screen right now.
On September 16, Warsaw's Kino Elektronik will host a special screening of “DDT. 20th Century” — an ambitious independent film by director Sergey Kuznetsov, created with the support and blessing of Yuri Shevchuk.
“DDT. 20th Century” has been described as the Russian answer to Pink Floyd's The Wall, a rock symphony, and a cinematic manifesto. Ninety minutes of archival footage, live-action cinema, original animation, and songs by DDT come together to tell the story of an era that, for many of us, needs no explanation.
Following screenings in Berlin, Prague, Limassol, Istanbul, Ankara, and Barcelona, the film is coming to Warsaw for the first time — accompanied by its director.
But we wanted to bring you more than just a film.
Starting at 5:30 PM, an exhibition of original artifacts from the project will open in the cinema foyer. You'll be able to explore sketches and materials used in the making of the film, with selected works available for purchase.
After the screening, we'll host an open conversation with director Sergey Kuznetsov, who spent several years painstakingly bringing this film to life, working closely with Yuri Shevchuk throughout the process.
The discussion will be moderated by Denis Segeda (@denisegeda) — an independent filmmaker, host of film discussions in Warsaw, and an active creator of short films and archival cinema.
Together, we'll explore how the project came together, what didn't make it into the final cut, and why this story took the shape it did.
And afterwards? An autograph session, photographs, limited-edition merchandise, rare prints, and a chance to spend a little longer immersed in the world of the film.
DDT's music has always transcended time. Just as in the band's recent, widely discussed music video “Not with You,” where Shevchuk steps aside to give the spotlight to a rebellious younger generation, “DDT. 20th Century” brings the timeless conflict between generations into sharp focus, alongside questions of freedom, homeland, and the search for truth.
This evening is more than a film screening. It's a deeply emotional, cathartic experience shared with people who understand.
